Can you send a message that looks empty?
WhatsApp normally ignores messages that contain only ordinary keyboard spaces. A blank-looking Unicode character can sometimes be treated differently because it is a real character rather than an empty input.
How to try a blank WhatsApp message
- Visit the [BlankyText invisible character tool](/) in your browser.
- Copy a blank-looking character such as U+3164 or U+2800.
- Open the WhatsApp conversation you want to use.
- Paste the copied character into the message field.
- If the send button becomes available, review and send the message.
Why does a blank message not send?
WhatsApp may change its input validation, and some Unicode characters can be removed or rejected. A character that works on one version of an app may not work on another. There is no guarantee of compatibility.
What is the difference between blank and empty?
An empty message contains no characters. A blank-looking message contains at least one character that is difficult to see. That distinction explains why the two can behave differently.
