What is invisible text?
Invisible text refers to characters that look blank or nearly blank when displayed. These are real Unicode characters, not simply an empty field. Different characters have different behavior: some occupy visible space while others have zero width.
How to copy and paste invisible text
- Open the [BlankyText copy-and-paste tool](/).
- Choose a blank character, such as Hangul Filler (U+3164) or Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800).
- Click its copy button. The character is placed on your clipboard.
- Open the app or website where you want to use it.
- Paste using Ctrl+V, Command+V, or the Paste option on your phone.
- Check the result before sending or saving.
Which invisible character should you use?
Hangul Filler (U+3164) often looks like an empty space. Braille Pattern Blank (U+2800) is another blank-looking character. Zero Width Space (U+200B) has no width and may be filtered by some apps. Try the one that suits your formatting needs.
Why does pasting sometimes fail?
Some platforms remove unusual Unicode characters, normalize whitespace, or reject blank-looking messages and usernames. Font support also varies by device. If the destination app does not accept a character, use a different supported character or ordinary formatting instead.
Can I use invisible text on mobile?
Yes. After copying from your browser, tap and hold a text field and choose Paste. Whether it remains visible as a blank depends on the destination app.
